A message from Lori Zoll Pharr’s father

Deb Upton Meyer received this e-mail from Lori Zoll Pharr (Class of 85) father today.

To all of Lori’s classmates. Lori’s earthly journey is over. God took one of his great servants home this afternoon. It is with a very heavy heart that this message goes to you all. Even though one of your classmates is gone from us heaven is so much richer. Lori is the kind of a girl that makes a guy very proud to say he is a father Only God and the love of our friends will ever fill the hole that is in Lori’s mothers and my heart. Please feel free to keep in contact with us. It will really help Josie and I. With our deepest gratitude, Blair

Update on Lori Zoll Pharr

Debbie Meyer wrote
at 11:02pm on September 23rd, 2009

I received an email from Lori Zoll’s dad this morning, and he wanted me to pass the info along to you. Here goes:

Deb : This will be the second hardest e-mail I have ever sent. Lori’s earthly journey is nearly over. Lori’s faith is ,as it has always been , very strong. She is in no pain . A few days ago the hospice nurse told us the doctor is not at all encouraged, and that Lori will become progressively more tired. That surly has begun to happen. Please continue to pray her Mom and I are finding this very hard to deal with. Our hearts know that God is in control but our minds keep asking why. Has the hospice nurse, so correctly put it “This really stinks” The love you have all shone for Lori is truly sent from God, thank you all very much. God is good Blair

Please pray for Lori and her family. I hate that this is happening to her!! Cancer bites! Sending big hugs to all of you. Deb

Just an FYI to let you know that Lori Zoll Pharr’s blog has been updated today. http://helplorifight.blogspot.com/

She is extremely tired and very weak. Please continue to keep Lori and her family in your prayers.

New and Revised www.ainsworth1985.com Website

I finally started working on the New and Revised www.ainsworth1985.com website today. I found this website from someone we went to high school with. She is using for her website. It’s called: Weebly.com. ~ Thanks Susan Sargent Sharp!
I have only been working on it for a couple of hours and I think it looks good. It’s short, sweet and gets the point across. There is still a lot of work that I need to put into it, but at least I have one up and going for alumni from the Class of 1985 to take a look at.
If anyone has any suggestions or pictures that they would like to add to the site, let me know.
Here is one of the messages on the Home page:

Some more Flint memories…

I was thinking of some of the things that I did while I was growing up in Flint…

  • Going sledding down the hill at Southwestern and drinking Peppermint Schnapps
  • Going to the Whoopie Bowl
  • Saturday TV meant watching scary movies with Sir Graves Ghastly.
  • Grapevine’s on Clio Road
  • Eating caramel corn from Dale’s Health Food Store on Harrison St.
  • And the words to the Paramount Potato Chip song: “I’m Slim Chipley, the guy you see on the Paramount Potato Chip’s bright red pack, I’m the flavor deputy, protecting crispness in every sack. They’re delicious, and so nutritious — yessiree they’re pips.”

Day 1 of the horrible news

Today mama drove herself to the hospital and the Drs did all kinds of tests. They took lots of blood, did a ultrasound, CT scan and chest x-ray…. they completely ruled out her gallbladder. needless to say the doctors determined that she has colon cancer that has metastasized to her liver! She is in room 232 at Conway hospital….

Please keep Lori and her family in your thoughts and hope for a full recovery.
